Welcome to camping in Gascony
There are a wide range of styles of accommodation in the campsites of Gascony. Most sites include both pitches for tents caravans and motorhomes and static caravans and cottages. Usually these are in wooded areas offering shade in the heat and a degree of privacy.

There are sites that offer high levels of activity on site including large swimming pools, many outdoor games, supervised childrens areas, shops, bar and restaurant.
Alternitively there are sites that offer a real outdoor life, space and tranquility, a pitch under pine trees or by a river, the chance of seeing deer and of enjoying the huge range of bird life.

The Arros campsite is located at the entrance to the village of Plaisance and offers a warm and friendly welcome to families and couples looking for adventure, rest or simply a sense of well-being. There are 82 spacious (100 square metre) plots which are available for tents, caravans and motor homes. The site is next to the River Arros and the plots are spread over 2 hectares of green and shady woodland to ensure visitors have a pleasant and comfortable stay. The large swimming pool in Plaisance is only 50 metres from the site. There is also a selection of accommodation available to rent from furnished tents to luxury chalets. |

This family run site is set in 3 hectares of green, wooded land in a calm and relaxed setting with views of the Pyrenees. The site benefits from being within easy walking distance of the historic bastide (fortified town) of Marciac and just 300 metres from the superb lake with fishing, leisure boats and swimming facilities. There are 80 touring pitches available with a range of shade; 50 pitches have the option of electric hook-up and easy access for caravans and camper-vans. |

The Lacs de Courtes campsite is located in the heart of the Gers countryside between Eauze and Villeneuve and is close to Barbotan les Thermes which is a popular spa town that offers treatment for rheumatism and circulatory problems. On-site there are excellent facilities including a great outdoor pool area, bar and restaurant and there is a holiday village atmosphere with activities and entertainments arranged in high season. | Château de Lavardens | Historical places |
Lavardens is an imposing hilltop fortified village. The castle attached to it was a stronghold of the counts of Armagnac. For a while the château belonged to the Marquis of Mirabeau, father of the famous revolutionary. Afterwards it fell into decay but has since been completely renovated by a private society 'amis du château'. Open daily June-Sept 10.30-7pm; April, May, Oct 10.30-12.30 and 2-6pm. Closed mid Jan-mid Feb. |

This is the 12th anniversary of the St Mont wine festival. It celebrates the wines of the Plaimont wine makers and takes place in the villages of Saint Mont, Riscle, Termes d'Armagnac' Bouzon-Gellenave, Sabazan, Aignan, Lupiac, Marciac, Plaisance du Gers and Bassoues. There are wine tastings in the villages and at the chateaux, traditonal local meals, a medieval carnival bringing the vintage to the people, markets with local cheeses, hams, confit and foie gras and music and dance into the night in many places.
