The aim of our places to stay section is to enable you to find a place to stay in Gascony that meets your needs for your holiday or breaks and your budget.
You can search for all types of property. There are the grand châteaux of the region often originally built by the local wine producers, solid stone or traditional wooden framed villas and houses, charming and welcoming B & B or chambre d'hote, sophisticated to simple hotels, chalets or static caravans in the woods or by lakes and rivers and of course camping itself in similar areas.
These properties are provided by independent property owners and French Tourism organisations who are working in partnership with us to bring you the broadest range of choice available in Gascony.
So if you cannot find exactly what you are looking for email us a info@gasconyexperience.com and using all our local contacts and knowledge we will do our best to find you a great place to stay.
When you search for a property you will be presented with the results in the form of what we call search panels these will show you an image of the property, a brief description, an indication of prices and with symbols will show some of the significant features of the property. If it is not clear what the symbols mean, simply pass your cursor over them and a description will be shown.
From these search panels you will able to either you will be able to click though to ‘full details'. On these tabbed page you will find:
7+ images of the property that you can review by clicking on the thumbnails
a left hand panel that gives you the important information about a property with symbols that itemise the facilities and local amenities at the property
a ‘welcome' tab which gives you a general description of the property and its environment
an ‘accommodation' tab which gives you detailed description of the property with more images
a ‘location tab' which will tell you more about the area and provide a map from which you can get directions
an ‘availability' tab which gives detailed pricing and availability information
and finally a ‘what's on' tab that shows you some of events and attractions that will be able to enjoy in Gascony. You can search in more detail under the ‘what's on' top menu bar.

Château Le Haget is a baroque beauty set in 12 hectares of magnificent parkland. Many of exotic trees were brought back in the 19th century by its first owner from his many travels. There are 10 en-suite rooms each with their own character and a restaurant in the converted stable block. In the parkland there is an orangery,19 small chalets and a 15 x 8 metre pool. There are also camping facilities in the grounds and the most wonderful shower and washing area.

| Château de Lavardens | Historical places |
Lavardens is an imposing hilltop fortified village. The castle attached to it was a stronghold of the counts of Armagnac. For a while the château belonged to the Marquis of Mirabeau, father of the famous revolutionary. Afterwards it fell into decay but has since been completely renovated by a private society 'amis du château'. Open daily June-Sept 10.30-7pm; April, May, Oct 10.30-12.30 and 2-6pm. This is the 12th anniversary of the St Mont wine festival. It celebrates the wines of the Plaimont wine makers and takes place in the villages of Saint Mont, Riscle, Termes d'Armagnac' Bouzon-Gellenave, Sabazan, Aignan, Lupiac, Marciac, Plaisance du Gers and Bassoues. There are wine tastings in the villages and at the chateaux, traditonal local meals, a medieval carnival bringing the vintage to the people, markets with local cheeses, hams, confit and foie gras and music and dance into the night in many places.
