Latest news - the offers and the changes

For the moment we would like to use this space to orchestrate a small campaign to get Ryanair to put the Stansted to Pau flight back to a reasonable time. We have always been great fans of Ryanair and in truth they are the reason we live in Gascony because when we bought our house here they were the only reasonable cost flight option from the UK. But now, as you will see under our flight section, there are several other options often at lower cost (by the time you have added in the cost checking in with your luggage).

But the problem is not the paying for check in, paying for not checking in, remembering to not pay for priority boarding and to unclick the insurance button it is simply that a flight time of 06.20 in the morning is unreasonable. It means latest check in after which you cannot fly is 05.40 which means any half sensible person is parking at the airport (because the trains are not running) at 04.45am so that they can join the check in queue by 05.00am. Now if you are lucky enough to be only 45 minutes from the airport (which we are when staying with parents) you have to be out of the house by 04.00am and assuming 2 of you can wash, dress etc in half an hour you leap from your bed at 3.30am. Presumably people who live further away do not bother to go to bed or stay in a hotel which defeats the object of cheap air travel.

So for the moment British Airways, when they cheap (which they quite often are these days thanks to Ryanair) and Easyjet are the only real options.

If you would like to join our protest please email us at pau@gasconyexperience.com and we will forward your views to the great mans organisation in the hope that they may listen to their customers in Gascony.
